RRT & RRT Racing is a component of Road Race Technologies, Inc. (RRT). RRT is the leading BMW and Mercedes performance and service center in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.

The creation of RRT was a natural evolution for RRT. RRT's roots were in designing and manufacturing the highest performance and quality parts in the BMW aftermarket, many of which have been imitated by other performance shops since then. Once RRT moved into the current Performance Facility in 2005, the high-end racecar parts business was put aside to focus on race car building, BMW maintenance, and suspension development.

Today there are dozens of RRT built and prepared BMW's around the Nation. Each one built to the customer's particular specifications and driving style. Many of these cars have gone on to several championships, overall wins, and class wins while being featured in several national and regional media outlets. The cars built by RRT have campaigned in Grand-Am, World Challenge, BMWCCA, SCCA, and NASA as well as a variety of independent events and races.

I had a drivetrain malfunction on my 2012 335i which was diagnosed by a dealership. They quoted me $9,500+ to replace my turbo. At that point the car was headed to the junk yard. I did some research on replacing turbos, etc. Then I found RRT and gave them a call. From the start they were very informative, gave me a quote for $4,000 with an upgraded turbo from a brand with a great reputation. They also replaced more parts (hoses and such) that the dealership wasn't going to be doing, but that should be done, so that you aren't in there multiple times. It took forever, for the part to arrive from the factory, which is in no part their fault. But they were always nice when I was pestering them about it. Finally got the car back and it's running like a champ. They also kept the old turbo and showed me exactly what had happened to make it go bad. New turbo is fun and makes the $4,000 more palpable. Overall, as good of an experience as you could have when spending that much money on a repair.

Phenomenal job by James and his team. Brought a used E46, and the wealth of knowledge his team had about these cars and what should be focused on immediately vs later was awesome to have. Considering his team is always busy, he was able to fit me in where he could to get the car moving. If you need specific help with an euro car, they would definitely be my go-to recommendation.

RRT is the best place to go to maintain your race car. I race Spec3 and they are absolutely the experts on keeping an e36 BMW reliable and competitive.

Took my M3 to get rod bearings done. They suggested a couple other maintenance items to do and weren’t pushy at all. I ended up doing most of them as their prices were very reasonable. James was extremely responsive to email and called as soon as the car was done. I highly recommend them.

I personally do not recommend this place. I feel like when I take my vehicle here, I end up with more problems. I could be wrong but just a gut hunch. They are expensive, but less pricier than the dealership for sure. After some service of having my engine gaskets replaced, I had issues with my batter and window/door lock modules. I wanted to have it looked at and they quoted me over the phone without a proper diagnosis for upwards of $1000 for a batter and module replacement. I though that was pretty pricey. I went to another shop and was charged a little over $500. My battery needed to be replaced, but no module needed anything.

I brought my 2006 Z4 to RRT a year ago for a milestone maintenance. My car performed beautifully after that service. So I returned a year later to RRT for an oil change and an alignment. The guys there are cordial, attentive, efficient, and communicative. I recommend anyone to bring their BMW to this passionate group of car enthusiasts at RRT.
